Yep, it defies old school thinking but Lexus V8's are not the gas hogs that many people expect they'll be. Our getting old 113k mile LS430 still gets a solid 26 mpg freeway and 19-21 mpg around our hills and down to town.

Now I'm looking for a good AWD GS (or maybe ls460) and I'm only looking for a V8 model.

GS430 and GS460 were only offered in RWD, no AWD options on the GS if you want a V8.
