Default To warranty or not to warranty!

I have 1 week left on my 2010 gs450h factory warranty and I have 26k miles. I bought the car about 5 months ago and I will be putting a lot more miles on her going forward.
The platinum warranty is $2,600 for 4 more years and 100k miles. Is it worth it, as I bought a Lexus for it's reliability. HELP!!!

Did you buy it CPO? $2,600 is a bit high to me but if you don't want to be blindsided with an expensive repair then do what puts you at peace. I don't know much about the reliability of the 450h to advise on potential problems.

Well the battery is covered up to 100k people say and some also say that they may cover it regardless of miles due to them wanting r&d on it. If that isn't correct then somebody please correct me!

Well I just replaced an alternator and water pump for $1200. Its really hit or miss with the warranty $2600 now or later either way your probably going to be investing that kind of money into your car if you plan on keeping it a while.

2008 w/78k. 1200 isn't that bad considering new tires range from 750-1000. If these cost scare you play it safe and get a car that won't put a dent in your pocket when it comes to repairs and maintenance.
