From what I know, theres no park assist in the GS's. Only the LS have that option.

Even with the park assist option on the LS's people hardly use it.

If you don't have enough hand-eye coordination to park a car, you shouldn't really be driving a Lexus.

Yes, driving a Lexus puts you in some sort of elite class of nearly everyone.

I was simply asking if that feature was available in some markets out of curiosity. Nothing more.

Can't remember the last time I parallel parked but I bet most lexus owners can't parallel park. I bet most Americans can't parallel park.

I don't think here is a "self-parking" option, but the park-assist feature (which used sensors to help guide parking) was an option on the 3GS.

Try living in Toronto or a core of some other major city and you will have to get the hang of it. I have personally become too reliant on the parking sensors after owning this car for so long, I bet if I were to try it with another similar sized or bigger car without sonar I would crash into everything now.

I agree. The backup camera too has become a must have.

I pulled into a spot the other day that once I parked I got out and admired the parking job, it was so tight that I had no idea how I got the car in there and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get it out.

I'm a fan of the parking sensors.

My wife tells me now that if we ever replace the car that the new one has to have parking sensors.

We don't have the backup camera on our car though, but whenever I got a loaner that had it it I actually liked it - previously to actually trying it I thought it was a big gimmick. That being said I would rather have sonar over backup camera.

I didn't know some GSes didn't have the backup camera. Do you have the screen? It seems like it would be a somewhat simple add on.

I did it in a Toyota Camry that had the NAV but no factory camera.

Yeah I have the screen, all GS have the same head units but there is no camera option on my car... but it has the other weird stuff like the AFS and Parking Sensors that some lack. It's a weird combination.

I'm not sure if all of the wiring is already in the loom that goes back to the trunk and it's just a matter of slapping the camera part on and bingo or if there is more to it, at this point I don't care though.
