Default 3GS tranny acting funny?

ever since I start driving the car i always noticed at like around 5mph no matter how light you touch the peddle from rolling its a bit jumpy. Not sure if its a major problem or not... also the tranny is starting to feel a bit not smooth btw almost at 80k miles 07 GS 350

Nope but I believe the car will be brought in for 80k service... hopefully it doesn't cost a major amount of money... i still have a lot DIY to do to this car

At a lexus dealer the average going rate is about $300 for transmission service. Its a little cheaper at a Toyota dealer.

Hmmm... do you think the 80k maintenance service is worth it?

Okay so apparently my brother said that its already been done so... I'm guessing its a tranny problem? I'm not sure how often they use the sport mode.... but I used probably like couple times a month for the heck of it... and sometimes i do Rev-match it.... cause it feels smoother when i do so.

Oh....my bad....i was talking about the transmission service...the 80k is nothing more than an oil change and tire rotation. It doesn't include transmission service most include it at 100k service.

He had the 80k service done or the transmission serviced?

i thought lexus said the our transmissions oil was to last the lifetime of the vehicle, being that it is a "sealed tranny", but then again i could never find a straight forward answer to whether that is true or not..........

Yea exactly.... I mean it says on like the lexus service site that they check on the transmission at like 75k miles I can't recall... But most vehicles require a trans fluid change at around 50k or 100k. well the 5mph thing its like it shifts back into 1st gear, either its 5 or 10mph can't recall but yea..

It's "sealed" as in the sense that it doesn't have a dipstick. That "sealed" term was meant for the original owner who most likely had no plans of owning the car to 100k. BinaryJay has already noted that Lexus of Canada has it in the scheduled maintenance book that it should be changed at 60k. The cars are the exact same setup so that should tell you something there. We also have numerous threads on this site where as the car approaches 100k transmissions start acting up.

I had mine changed at 60k because I don't believe that any fluid that is put under stress is lifetime.

Take it from me that you should do your first tranny oil change before 30k miles all the burrs left on the gears during manufacturing come off. Then after that every 50k. Also only use toyota brand to be safe. None of this universal tranny fluid, don't flirt with disaster.

How much would that cost? I'm not exactly sure if my brothers want me to do it... we kind of share the car and i'm just trying to fix it...
