yeah if mine broke id rather have it in the down position and just tint the glass with a ceramic type film...

I love the sun shade. I'm glad I have it stuck in up position. It makes the interior darker and cozier. Wish the rear windows had the shades too.

Tints are out of the question. In nyc cops use tints for a reason to pull you over. And I'm not a fan of NYPD. So,no tints here or on any of the cars. I also feel the tints make the car look older.

As for the shade. If it was under 500$ I would have done it. 1800 is insane. I'm just too lazy lately to tear into it. It's just not that important.

I was going through my car's vin# through the lex site to see history services and comes to figure out that the first owner had declined to fix the sun shade motor, which is why my sunshade works but pulls 50% of the way up... I was like wtf? But it didn't bother me since no one rarely sits in the back, with ur mirror issue bro... Sad to hear man. I'd be frustrated to to hear $3k for simple shat like that. I'd throw a Broadway mirror over it from Chinatown for 10 bucks for temporary use but to each of their own.

What's your next ride going to be if u don't mind me asking?

Everything with a motor seems to break on a lexus, so I don't even use them.

e.g side view mirrors, sun shade
someone even had the trunk latch break.

One day the adaptive headlight motor will break and your lights will be wonk-eyed

I never knew people actually really used those things all that often, then again, I live in WA... We don't have this thing called "sun" here. I pushed the button once, was like "oh, neat..." and never used it again, haha. Tint is good enough for me. I'm one of those people who likes a car as simple as possible, so I don't use any of the fancy features, I even leave my AFS off since I feel like it's just something else that will eventually break and cost me money... I'll turn it on when the weather is really crappy, or if I'm going down a really dark road, but that's it.

Sounds like you got the wrong car...lol

I use all the features...all the time...I guess it's cause I chose the options I wanted so that I could use them. If it breaks or doesn't work I want to know so I can get it fixed while I still have a warranty...

Oh, now being in warranty is a WHOLE different ballgame; I'd use the crap out of every little thing until it was up, but my warranty has long expired. I was looking at '08-'12 S550's before my GS, and when I looked at everything inside, all I thought to myself was "I'd be terrified to touch anything in here..." The GS is a really simple car compared to most
