Default Rear Sun shade 07 GS350 Frozen - BYE BYE GS350

Ok , so now my sun shade is broken and set at 80% open. It will not move at all. From searching in the forum it looks like it will be $1,800 to fix. AHAHHAHAA.... Omg if that is seriously the case then I guess its time to say goodbye to my 07 GS350. It was fun while it lasted.

Oh wait and my rear-view mirror has a bunch of black **** inside the mirror. It cost $1000 to get a new mirror. So in total it will be atleast $3000 to fix a sunshade and mirror. Really ? WTF is the point of that ?

I will probably have a bunch of stuff for sale soon. BC-R coils with Swift springs , AC front lip, Rear ISF difuser, Lexus Japan Visors and some mods.

You can always get one from a salvage yard...but all this stuff that's on these cars isn't going to last forever unfortunately. After the warranty...its a gamble...I have two years warranty left on my GS...and i'll have to decide what it's fate will be as well....good luck on your next purchase!

It will probably be hard to find a sun shade for an 07 GS especially in Miami area...

I really do not care that its broken, its just the fact that its broken 70% (going up) and I see a black rail through my re-view mirror , which is also messed up , SO now I have extremely poor visibility out of my rear view mirror. Very dangerous

Things break, and they're not cheap when you buy a luxury car. Look into some DIY fixes for these things, including going to junk yards. If you sell it, just don't get a German car! Imagine things like this, but on a monthly basis, haha.

Yeah...that really sucks....i can't believe that mirror cost that much! Its nothing special besides the compass and homelink....all of which is 15+ years of technology.

The mirror glass can be replaced for $100.

I have that crap in my mirror too, but I decided to spend my $100 on other stuff.
The car is just too old for me to give a $#@$ anymore.

Thanks for the advice guys , but I am definitely not paying over 100 for a mirror. That is just ridiculous. Next weekend I will be looking to trade my car so we will see what I get for my 07 GS350

My sunshade broke half a year ago. Got stuck in half way down position.
Intake it all art sometime this winter when I have time. It's an easy fix from what I hear.

What I' did is this.
Bring the shade up so its in up position, you need two people for that, pull the levers on each side at the same time, this will open it without damaging it. Take the fuse out in the trunk for the sunshade and this will keep it,from going down .

I was pissed about this, how could a sun shade motor break on a Lexus.

It doesn't just happen to Lexus...all of them break...just happens...if you think about it...they go up and down a lot. I just had the one in my M37 replaced a month ago...

My sunshade motor sounds a bit noisy, so I've just decided to leave it in the down position for the time being. Will have to figure out something.
