Replacement of Motor Mount on 2006 GS300 AWD
i am a new member, i have 06 gs300, it vibrates a little bit when i hold on to brake and gear in drive, i did take it to dealership and they want $1300 for this job to be done. i am just wondering if anyone has done it and have DIY for it so i can try to do it myself.

I have seen some megan motor mounts , not sure if they or worth it or not. I was looking into changing mine after 100,000 miles .

The mounts themselves are expensive (from lexus anyway). A little vibration is not some reason to replace motor mounts... and doing so probably would make no difference.

Yeah, that vibration is annoying, especially if you have the infamous rattles at the same time. The vibration is from the exhaust system not tuned or compromised so well at idle, at least that's what I found on my GS300 AWD. Shift to N when waiting for lights if you've been having a manual car all your life and you never forget to shifting back to D when the traffic gets going again. I do this when I have passengers and I don't like risking being embarrassed. I found having A/C on all the time largely reduces or eliminates the vibration as doing so likely puts the engine at a different idle speed, or de-tunes the vibration.

Not that I know of.
Perhaps changing or modifying the mufflers can make a difference but it can also affect the performance/refinement when the engine is at different speed or power output. The mufflers on our cars have a couple pieces of pendulum mass attached that seem to be serving as vibration tuning/damping device at low engine rpm. Again, it's all just from my personal observation and I have never been bothered so much as to do in-depth research or any other work to remedy the issue. It may or may not work.

most of you said it is normal and even dealership says it is, but when i did buy that car didn't have that vibration. could that be something like exhaust leak or anything?
