Default riding high

Hey guys, I was washing my car today and noticed something really wired.

First - I have a 2010 GS 350 AWD and I just got it about 1 month ago.

My right side is riding higher then my left side.

I can get only 4 fingers between the body and the tire on the left but 5 fingers on the right side between the tire and body.

My car is all stock.

Please help.

Thanks guys,

J.

A blown or leaking shock won't have any effect on ride height.

A worn, broken or unseated spring could cause it. A badly worn shock bushing could also cause it.

I'd go out on a leap and say blown struts and probably the spring/bushings also.

Hi guys i have the same issue my car is a gs350 AWD lowered on NF210 now recently my car has been sitting lower than it should in the back driver side wheel causing the passenger side to raise up its about a 3 finger gap on the passenger side and 1 1/2 on the driver side usually it is about 2 fingergap. (From my post in the suspension sub-forum)

Today I went outside and my front right was sitting high this time not the left rear lol? Ill keep you updated if i figure out whats wrong please post if you do before me thanks!

i still say the struts would make it drop a finger…rare for a spring to be defective. or hit a big enough bump to unseat the spring...

Could you explain to me how a strut has anything to do with ride height?

The spring, spring position and strut mounts dictate the ride height, not the dampening ability of the strut.

You could drill a hole straight through the body of the strut and the vehicle height won't change.

No need to yell at the poor kid, he doesn't know

Here's some information stolen from another forum... Schmexus is right. I say the struts may be worn because worn struts can cause premature failure to the springs, wearing them out more than usual, even possibly causing improper seating.

good info.. i was just saying were talking about a '1' FINGER difference not a significant amount… sorry if your upset about the advice… i had a blown strut on my accord and it was just slightly a tad lower on that side as he is suggesting. so in my example replacement if the strut fixed the problem…thanks gokou for not being hard on me!

Who was upset or being hard?

Don't wear your heart on your sleeve. Nobody yelled or got upset.
