Hi guys, i was so excited to finally get my tires mounted onto my wheels. My specs are 20x10 et+30 +20 (rears). But i knew i wouldnt be that excited for long,

I went to go put the +30 upfront and it doesn't even sit on my hub, maybe only on 3 studs. I had my +20s up front just to see and it sits on the hub but scraps against the caliper. So i went to autozone, and got the cheap 5 lug 5/16 spacer and it sits fine, but it still looks very tight.. I called the vendor ive been going thru for all of this and they recommend the ichiba spacers with the extended studs on there which i think will work. But i am not local to them for me to bring in my car.

I've done so much research on my wheels and i was sure these would clear, but i guess not =(


My dilemma is what size spacers to get for the fronts?

Any input would be greatly appericated =) thanks for reading!

Whoever ordered the wheels for you did not order the correct disk size to clear the calipers.

i ran 15mm and 20mm ichiba v2 wheel spacers (built in studs) on my dailyed LS for practically a year with no issue. just got to make sure its installed and torqued to the correct specifications.

How do yo u exactly do that? I ran 25mm and 20mm on OEM wheels, and then 10mm Ichiba V2 with studs on my aftermarket wheels... no good. Wobbly at certain speeds especially around 70mph.

Wheel balance and alignments and tire checks were done, all okay. Removed the spacers, all good again.

If its a small amount scrape on the caliper, I would let the wheel scrape the caliper to see where it is touch. Take a angle grinder or a file and lightly grind down the area.

I had the exact same problem when I purchase my wheels. Lucky for me my friend had a 20mm spacers I borrowed to test fit my wheels. Even then, its pretty close to the caliper but it cleared it maybe 2mm or so. Hasn't made any noise and I usually take off the wheel just to see if its scraping on the back of the wheel face. Im using H&R hub centric spacers with extended studs and haven't have a problem yet. My only suggestion when you install them is knock all the rust on the rotor so the spacers set flush, use hub centric rings, and torque down evenly to eliminated any wobble. Hopes this help!!

you'll need a spacer up front. 30mm wont clear the bbk (as you already know). i believe a 38mm IIRC clears the bbk so you'll need a 10mm spacer.

Guys, thanks for all the information!! My wheels are not 3 piece wheels, I wish I was balling enough to do so lol. If I get a 20 mm that wouldn't push it out to much to the point I have to roll my front fenders? The +30 will not even sit on my hubs. I tried a cheap AutoZone spacer which was 8mm and still looks it will scrape against my calipers. I really suck at calculations. Btw My vendor has been very helpful. But real question is 10, 15 or 20 mm ?

i could be incorrect because its been a while since i looked through the information but i recall a thread comparing offsets between the 300 and 350. 35mm would work on a 300 because of the smaller brakes but not the 350. i think if you went with a 10mm you'll be ok but id get some more opinions from other members who are more in depth with wheels.

You could also remove the BBK and mount smaller GS300/IS250 calipers

Depends on wheel style. Iirc the higher the offset the closer the wheel face is to the hub. But it still depends on the wheel design. Mine for instance 20x10+30 clears the front brakes just fine.

my experiences were from a 98 LS400 so im sure there are other variables that may come into play for the 3gs


to op - when you ordered, did they say what disc size?
usually, hi disc will clear bbk no matter what the offset. sometimes mid- or low- disc will clear bbk depending on the offset and spoke design. maybe contact the vendor and exchange your set for a hi disc version. that way the wheels wont poke as much
