carbon fiber interior trim
Sorry if this has been covered before, I've tried various advanced search attempts under the 3GS section (carbon fiber trim, carbon fiber interior, etc.) but search results came up empty..anyways, I was just toying around with the idea of wrapping the interior (center console + door trims) in a cf vinyl and was curious if any of you have done it. If so, were there any complications or problems? I'm mostly just worried about removing it, in case I don't like the results or if I decide to sell the car later down the road. I know worst case scenario there might be a little grime and residue leftover but I'm sure that can be easily solved with goo-gone or a like substance. Just curious as to your thoughts/input. Thanks!

Don't use Goo-Gone, REPEAT, DO NOT SOO GOO GONE....
That stuff is corrosive, VERY corrosive to plastics.
If you want to remove residue, use isopropyl alcohol. Not 100% though, maybe a 50% mixture... I'm not sure how much diluted you need to make it, but from previous experiences, 100% isopropyl alcohol melted the plastic covers on my phone, 50% wasn't bad.

Alternatively you can do what i did to my tt supra. Carbon fiber skinning. Idea is that you wrap a part in real carbon fiber.You need carbon fiber sheet, epoxy, hardener, sanding paper and whole life of free time and even more of patience. You can google carbon fiber wrapping.

I just sent the interior pieces that I sourced including the steering wheel to CL vendor Nextmotorsport for "carbon fiber" overlay. It's going to take about a month to complete. We'll see how it turns out. Nextmotorsport is the old CL vendor FX Auto and has very good feedback on CL. I'll post pics if I like the look and decide to do the install. The nice part about a project like this is that I can sell my original interior pieces and re-coup a significant portion of the cost. I did a blackwood conversion on my 2nd Gen GS and it turned out awesome.

im doing vinyl overlay only reason why is... its not like its real wood. 
on top of that just need to find the right carbon fiber vinyl to not make it look super cheesy.
but man are they making real carbon fiber ones for your car since they asked you to send your in? taking a month too its like they are using your parts as a template. definitely post pics of the aftermath. gotta see it!

Wow. I posted a thread on here a few weeks ago abut this and got blasted! LOL
That does look cool and not as phony as some expect. May I ask who did this for you and if you had to send it to them or they sent the stuff to you? Not B&I was it?
I love CF and have it ALL over my Ducati (BST CF Wheels too!) and would like to do some of this to wife's car. Though shed probably like wood as others said!
