Okay everyone. Just installed it, I had a grom audio adapter before. very easy and yes it is on the higher price of options but it is worth it!!! While the grom audio worked this one was much better. You can control everything from your steering wheel or device. Bluetooth streaming is very clear, excellent audio quality. It also has a USB port so I ran a USB extension cord and placed it in the center console so I could charge my devices. Best thing is it is wireless and auto connects. If it doesnt you just hit the scan button and it will reconnect. Another plus is that it removes the Navigation warning screen. Spend a little more, it's worth it! Glad I went this route.

I have the Grom Bluetooth and it works fine. Is there any reason to swap it for the Vaistech version?

nope nothing wrong with Grom, if you already have it don't spend the money. Not sure if Grom also cancels the Nav Agreement screen or lets you utilize steering wheel controls

The Grom does allow steering wheel control. As far as the Nav agreement, mine auto-clears because of the Map version I am using. Are you saying the Vaistech removes the screen altogether?

No it bypasses it. So unless you want steering wheel controls there's not a huge incentive. But the sound quality is very clear.

I am aobut to get this. Just wanted to be clear. Does the unit allow for both Bluetooth and a wired connection of my ipod/iPhone? Or can it only do Bluetooth? I would seriously like to have the option of both connections as I am a bit of an audiophile and am concerned with any significant loss of quality. So if say a few tracks don't sound good BT I have the option of connecting it via usb. Thanks...

you should contact vaistech to confirm, but from my understanding, the usb on the sl3b is only for charging. all the streaming is through BT

I too have just ordered the SL3b for my LS430, if the usb port can sync, that would be a great news.

Red face

great thread!

I would like to get away from the tape adapter.. but then again I also want XM functionality through the nav screen. I have the 2007 GS350 with nav/ML. Shark fin but no tuner (did I say that right?).

Is there a unit somewhere that will give streaming/aux music functionality as well as satellite tuner? I don't want to buy two things right now, but alas.. I might just choose one or the other.
