Direct injection carbon build up
Does anyone have advice on how or how often do I need to clean the carbon deposits out of my 2006 gs300 direct injection motor. The motor was rebuilt by Lexus a year ago as a result of the recall. Just trying to keep it clean and get another five years out of the car.

Just make sure to get the car warmed up before a 3/4 to full throttle pull. On-ramps are a decent place to do this. I have an on-ramp on my commute that is perfect for a 30 to 75 full throttle pull. No sign of carbon buildup/blow by or oil consumption at 103k. My 300 runs very well. (Knocks on wood).

I didn't have them clean mine out until 100,000 km... this particular issue doesn't really bother me if it only needs to be done at that kind of interval even if it costs a few hundred dollars to do... well, given how little I drive it will never need to be done by me ever again unless I still have the car for another 20 years.

is the 300 engine similar to the 350 engine?
cuz the 350 engine has both port and direct inject, and the port inject is supposed to prevent carbon build up.
I forget when port inject is used, local or highway?
