Default Interior Lights Questions

I have a 2007 GS350 Lexus...my first Lexus...i love this car. The Foot Light and shift lever lights remain on expect when i turn the control panel lights completely off.(page 306, owner manual) Is that normal? How can i turn the foot and shift lever lights off without turning all the control panel lights off? Thanks Ken

it's ambient lighting, it's suppose eto be like that.

Do you not like it or something? they're all wired to be honest, you can always disassemble them and disconnect them and plug them back together as you please.

Go under the foot lighting, and unplug them one at a time until you're satisfied. This is a feature that'll always be on the car .

For what it's worth, you'll probably get use to it, as most people love the ambient lighting and buy this car for the little perks like that.

yessir, it definitely is (if it's really an eyesore LOL)...

unscrew shift lever, pop panel up, disconnect wire and push back down, easy peasy

EDIT: There might be a screw (might not be) where the cigarette ash tray is under the radio.

I forgot as it's been 2+ years since I've done my swap.

I believe he's talking about the light that shines from the headliner (where the sunroof buttons are) onto the shift lever.

For what it's worth, I hated it when I first got my GS and wanted to shut it off, then decided it's not worth the hassle. Now I'm kinda used to it and will probably want it back if I were to shut it off that this point
