Default Anyone change their transmission filter (GS350)?

I plan to do my transmission fluid this weekend now that I am about to hit 100k miles and may get adventurous and do the filter as well.

Should I change it? Has anyone else done this? If not, I will take pics and do a small write-up.

I noticed Rock Auto has a few different ones listed.

Use LEXUS trans filter.

I believe one of our members have done it already.

GL!

I am aware of this, but I think this is not relevant to whether a filter needs to be changed. There is still a pan that can be removed. My understanding of 'sealed' has to do with:

1. no dipstick
2. tranny fluid does not travel to and from transmission to be cooled/heated. Instead there is a ATF warmer (hockey puck looking device) on passenger side which brings coolant to tranny to warm tranny

I did mine back in the fall when it cooled off. Fairly easy with 2 folks. Find the write up and you can jumper the OBD - 4 and 13 pin I believe and do a series of 6 shifts from D to N to put car in operating mode and when the D light on console is blinking is when you fill it until it trickles out. Once that light is solid, it is above the temp range needed.

I did not change the filter. I have never chaned the filter in any of my vehicles. I keep clean fluid in them and have never had any issues. I currently have an 02 GS300, a 1991 4Runner I bought new and a 07 GS350. none have had Tranny filter changed.

Thanks - I've seen this writeup. If I bought a car new and not used I probably would not change the filter either. Unfortunately we have never purchased a brand new vehicle or one with less than 25k miles. I changed the filter on our RX330 recently and it looked like this. We bought the car with 75k miles and records showed it had tranny fluid changed twice before we bought it. Mind you, since we purchased the vehicle I changed tranny fluid every 25k miles. When I changed the filter the fluid was bright red - one would think looking at the old filter the fluid would be brown.

Now given that our RX330 tranny is not sealed, this probably adds to the need for changing the filter and more frequent drain/fills. I doubt the GS350's tranny filter would be this dirty.

Like I said, one of our wonderful members have done it already. I believe his username is KuWuPt.

Our transmission do have transmission coolers, they're in sync with the radiator (FYI).

GL alchemist! I'd be scared myself to tackle this task myself.
