GS300 2006 Steering Jerk
OK, my turn to post. I did a search and I didn't get much. Wife bought an '06 GS300. Not a bad car, but isn't my 2000 Camry either.... Of course I pick my Camry to the Lexus. I noticed driving it from the day she bought it with 75K on it, it has a jerk or detent when the steering wheel is brought back to center. On the road it drives me nuts, cause I was gifted at driving a car without tossing the passengers back and forth while going down the hwy and in the twisties. I turn and return, I don't try to crack sniff my way down the road. So the dealer can't feel it, the wife feels it some, and low and behold today, I bumped into a co-worker with the same model/year. She feels it too.
So does anyone know if it might be something in the steering shaft hitting something or the steering bushings on the rack? Or the rack gear itself that has a worn spot

JSM1284, thanks for that post!! Well it be well out of warranty, that's for sure. But you tell me since that this bulletin came out March 23, 2011 and included a 2006 GS300, will Lexus still do anything to repair it under some sort of a warranty?? If not, what's the cost to get it done?

Oh man!!! What a buzz kill $$. Just got done driving 100 miles in it, and half it in the twisties. The second buzz kill, driving it. Like driving a tank. If it steered half as good as my Camry it'd be at least nice. It's a both hands on the steering wheel feeling that notch in every turn I saw some rebuilts for $600. So does buying the OEM stuff guarantee that I'll get the same issue all over again in about so many thousands of miles???
