2008 GS460 Vs 2011 GS350
Hello, i'm new here and this will be first Lexus purchase so i'm here to seek information and advice.
I'm currently looking at 08 GS460 - 59k miles (probably no warranty) asking $24k.
Second one is 2011 GS350 - 37k miles (100k / 3yrs Warranty) asking $34k drive out.
I liked them both and i'm thinking 2011 is a better buy because it newer and all with warranty but if i can get the 08 GS460 down to around 21k drive out then i'll save some money there hoping nothing wrong with it. I only test drive the 2011 gs350 so far, haven't tried the 08 gs460 yet. What you you guys think? Any advice will help, thanks in advance.

It depends on what you need it for, if you plan on driving it alot for highway trips, the GS350 has better gas mileage. if Gas is not an issue and you want the best overall car the GS460 is much better car than the 350. and a better deal.. The GS460 use same motor & transmission as the LS460 which is the top Lexus model.

Lexus V8's are the most durable, and reliable engines on the planet. Both my cars (V8 models) is at 9 yr and 15 years old. I have absolutely ZERO problems with them. And GS460 like i said uses same motor as the LS, these engines are the best you'll ever find in any car maker. Solid.
The V8 engines are capable of going over 300K miles if taken cared for.. and has been proven... I plan to drive mine to the wheels literally fall off.. LOL

I wasn't worry about engine reliability, older car seems to falls apart, little of this little of that need repair like shock, strut, pump, ect... . So i'm thinking the 2011 would last me longer without repairing little things.

You are talking about a $10K+ price difference here. You could fix a TON of stuff on the older one for $10K. I'd buy the 460. I recently bought a 2007 GS430 and love the V8. Such a pleasure to drive with the V8 torque. Wouldn't trade it for a 350 for anything....well almost anything :-)

Thanks for all the inputs. I'll go test drive the 2008 GS460 on Tuesday and if nothing wrong with it then i'll buy it. If not then 2011 350 is my only choice.

Eh.. the GS460 were sold long ago and they say they still have it. I wasted a day off work and 40 mins drive to that dealer. I guess my only option now is 2011 GS 350.
