Default Refinishing my rims -- any concerns?

Hey guys. My rims got scratched up during a recent tire install and my dealership is refinishing them for me. They have a mobile truck that comes out, takes the rims/tires off the car (but not the tires off the rims), sands them down, fills in any chips, repaints them and clear coats them. They don't use factory Toyota paint but my advisor tells me that the color match is excellent. Anyway, is there anything I should look out for? By the way, I have stock g-spyder 18s.

This is a very common practice and ive had it done multiple times even to polished wheels. You should be fine. Glad they are paying for it

I have the same rims as you and had the same issue. The tire shop patched a tire for me and badly scratched up one rim. The guy they had refinish the rim didnt realize the rim was more of a hyper silver finish and I got the rim back as polished silver. I had them re-do and it turned out okay so just beware.

Thanks guys.

Sprtdsgn -- is that the official name of the color, hyper silver? My Lexus dealer is having someone do the work, so I assume they know this, but I may still pass along the information if this is the official color name.

Thanks to everyone for the replies.

Don't know if that's the official color for Lexus but that silver/ grayish color is commonly referred to as hyper silver by rim manufacturers.

they can match the finish of the stock wheels but if you have f sport rims or ISF rims they will not be able to get a perfect match. I ended up buying a new rim.
