Are you capable of doing this work yourself? If so, buy some Stoptech rotors and Akebono pads and you'll still be out ahead.

Just had fronts replaced with EBC slotted discs and Okebono pads, purchased through Amazon. Excellent quality and superb performance to date, much much better than OEM. Super reasonable cost compared to dealer (don't even go there), and even through a good local indie. EBC slotted discs and Okebono pads highly recommended. Cheers / Lexleezard

Hey, thought I would check in to say that I've had the EBC setup now for about 4,000KM (~2,500 miles). They are excellent all-'round. Paint is gone from the discs where the new Okebono pads do their thing (duh!). Obviously no worries there. Performance under all circumstances, ranging from "full-on" binders to nice and gradual slowing to a stop, has been first-rate. I have detected absolutely zero residual effects. So there has been no pulsing brake pedal, pulling to one side or the other, squeaking / squealing, etc. I am very happy with the product. Cheers to all / LexLeezard

Do it yourself and save $500+, I only spend $114 for front rotors(brand is Centric) and $62 for Akebono pads, all from Amazon. Installation is very easy, took me 1.5hr to do both sides and I'm no mechanic. Car stops perfectly like stock but without noise and barely any dust.

Default Brakes at -40C (same: -40F)

All: just a bit nippy tonight. The EBC brakes + Okebono pads are doing exceptionally well at these low temperatures. Friend from work had brakes seize up this AM -- frozen solid -- 4x4 supposed to be invincible, could not move. Not unusual when things get this frigid. BTW imagine in your mind 12" of fresh water sloshing around and freezing rock-solid on the road, rutted and grooved and polished glass-smooth by thousands of passing vehicles. Intersections are not where you want to be in suchconditions ... anyway right now that's my daily commute. But, what can I say? The GS460 is fantastic at such low temps and in such conditions -- and the brakes work perfectly. Doesn't hurt to have studded Hakkepalittas all the way 'round. Great combination. Could not recommend more highly. Just put the transmission into "Snow" and things are fantastic. This is an amazing vehicle in horrible polished ice / blizzard conditions. Cheers / LexLeezard
