Turned car off in gear, now it won't start
So I pull into the driveway, hit the start/stop button to kill the engine, and as I get out of the car, it starts beeping warnings like crazy. I realize I didn't shift the car out of drive, and put it in park manually with the engine off. It didn't give any particular resistance.
Now the car won't start. Have I done something bad? Will unhooking the battery reset the computer and give it a chance to try to figure out what happened? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

It won't turn the car off when you push the start/stop button in drive. It will leave it in the same mode you would be in if you had just hit the start button once (ACC mode) and you probably didn't realize this after you shifted into park and walked away. I am guessing your battery might have died.

I've done this before but putting it back in park allowed me to start it again. Perhaps it's not recognizing it's in park. Try to cycle through the gears with car in on position, and possibly try starting in neutral.

As the famous saying goes, "sh.t happens"... GL OP!
If you happen to have trouble moving the shifter through the park-reverse-gears. on the top left side above the P (park) letter is the lid for the shifter release. Stick a flathead (carefully) in there, pop the cap off and push that white sector down so you can shift it wherever you need. I would TRY to shift into Neutral and start the car and see if that works
