Default 60,000 mile service

Hello,

My 2006 GS300 just hit 59,000 miles. I started shopping around for the 60k service.

dealer wants $875 with $100 off after taxes.

Toyota delaership wants $700.

Local repair shop $450 to $500.

Just wondering what place you guys suggest. Is it worth the extra $$ at the lexus dealership?

I think you can get them to check what needed, all you need is an oil change, spark plugs, engine
air filter, and cabin air filter. I would inspect your shocks and struts and ball joints and bushings. I would not pay for the full service though. I would go to a reputable mechanic and get that work done there.

I'm coming up on my 60K service also. Spark plugs are cheap if you order them from Sewell, cabin filter is about $15. I'm just going to do the work myself and save tons of cash. and I'm no mechanic, its that simple.

I'll have someone else do the plugs after I order them from Sewell. The rest I'll do myself.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm going to buy the parts from Sewell and have my local mechanic do it.
It should run under $300 now. Thanks for the tips.
