Default Possible Headlight Shortage or wattage to high

I have a 2006 GS300. My old headlight had a crack in it that eventually made it stop working due to water getting inside. However, the small orange headlight close to the grill still worked. Yesterdaay we replaced the old headlight and it was working again.... The whole light. Even before I switched out the headlight I noticed that sometimes my orange one would go out. Now for some reason if I have my lights on "auto" the drivers side orange one doesnt work (passenger does). But if I turn my lights on "OFF" both the drivers side and the passenger side orange ones work. So I know it's not becuase I need a new bulb. Could someone please help me on what this may be???? Thanks
