Default Is your seat heater/ventilator switch lighted?

It's 19 degrees here in Louisville and I got in my new 08 350 after dinner and went right for the seat heater switch and realized it isn't illuminated! An orange light comes on indicating the seat is heating (green I think for cooling), but the switches themselves aren't illuminated. When I got home, I checked in my mothers 2011 RX and her switches (exact same piece?) are. I called my buddy who has an 08 IS and his are too! Do I have a bulb out or does the GS not illuminate the switches? The light above shining down on the console doesn't quite make it back to the seat switches.

Thank you!

Tyler

Nope, not illuminated. They weren't on my '06 IS either. They only light up red or blue depending on whether it's set to hot or cold. However, the constant on LED light in the dome illuminates them just fine, not sure why yours doesn't.

Since you are from KY, and it is so cold, I went out to my GS and checked them so you don't freeze :-). My dials are illuminated and also has a green/red light that is on when using them.

Thank you all for the replies. I suppose anthrax144 and I have a bulb out? Anyone know if this came as an early 3GS feature then was "removed" after? I wonder if I could swap my dials out with the dials for an 11 RX or 08 IS since I know they are illuminated...

My 07 GS350 dials light up as well - only when the lights are on of course.

Cheers

Went and double checked. Mine DO light up. At first I thought it was just glow in the dark style lettering. When I turned the lights off and on they did light up so sorry for misinformation. Although I'm almost positive they didn't on my IS350 as it came up in that forum some time ago. Also, the overhead LED light illuminates that area very well. Yours doesn't?

This is good news. Thank you. Now I know I do have an issue with my car...which means I can fix it!

As to your other question, a bit of light does shine on the controls, but when I am driving and glance down to find the switch (or adjust the heating level), it's insufficient because by the time my eyes adjust to see the controls under the dim light, I need to be looking back at the road ahead. I realize I am complaining about a very very minute issue, but knowing I can fix it makes it better.

Thank you all. Now I need to tear that open and try to find a bulb. Something tells me I may need a new switch, which probably wouldn't be worth it!

Just in case you wanted a picture, here is one. I took it last night, and although we all know it lights up, I took the picture so here is photo proof lol
