Anyone with high mileage have beat up rear spoiler?
anyone have 50000+ miles, and rear spoiler is all scratched up?
Trying to figure out whether the spoiler is normal wear and tear from the sand in the air, or if I didn't take care of it.
You can't really polish it because the paint on it is too thin.

Be careful when buffing along the edges. The paint is thin.
You can easily buff right through the paint.
Unfortunately, the edges are where mine are scratched up the most.
If I were doing it again, I would take it to the body shop to spray another layer of clear coat on it.

Under the right sunlight, it looks nasty.
I tried to polish, but scratches are deeper than they look.

Mine has been looking a little rugged for a year or two. I was wondering the same, it looks all faded from sun. I think the paint is different on it than the body. I wouldn't be surprised if it's an adhesive like the roof rails that peeled on me already.
