Default Wear indicators

In the process of replacing front and rear pads on my '06 GS300 RWD. Noticed that the metal clip "wear indicators" are in various places on the old pads. Searched the forum and looked at parts sites, but could not see a definitive location for these wear indicators.

Is there an accepted location for these on each pad? Bottom or top of each pad? Both inner and outer pads?

Would appreciate your input. Thanks!

There should be one on each brake pads. Depending on where the caliper is determines where it goes. On the gs300, you would want to put it on the bottom of the pads so when the brake pads are installed, the wear indicators are facing down.

Hope that helps
