Default Water pump Issue

So I have to say I love CL, after I saw a thread about someone having problems after there water pump failed I got worried since I was getting close to the mileage specified. I was told by a couple of other mechanic friends that I know that I shouldn't have to worry until 90k. This is a problem and people should get them checked while on warranty. I currently have 69,233 Miles on the odometer and it failed. I'm glad I have warranty but wonder if this is a problem, as I thought these were supposed to last 90k-120k.

I think this is a common issue. That's why Lexus issued a TSB for inspection & diagnostic.
I couldn't save the TSB in PDF format so I can't post here.
This water pump is something.
I just keep checking the coolant reservoir for now. Still have a year or 20K miles left on the EW.

Mine failed without warning, my engine blew. Cost me labor, Lexus covered parts. Still was out of pocket over $3700. I'm at 73k miles.

Where is that part to check to see if the coolant is leaking as pictured?

^ depends on which model you have, on the GS430 its buried with the timing belt. A bit of work and nothing you would catch, IMO, from a quick glance unless it was a major leak.

that pic looks more like a sealant issue rather then the water pump?
