Default GS350 Steering feels like it slips or on ice

I just took a long road trip and I had a strange sensation while driving. When traveling at about 80mph, the steering seemed to "slip" when I was in what I would call the center position. When I nudged the wheel left or right slightly it seemed like I was on ice. For a second nothing seemed to happen and then it it turned. At low speeds no sensation or on turns, mostly when I was just traveling down the highway and keeping he car centered. Tires are the Dunlop Runflats with 80% tread, recent alignment , car is an 08 with 32,000 miles.

Anyone know what is going on ?

Thanks.

This is a known issue... There is a recent thread on it. Hopefully someone with knowledge about it will pop in for more.

Default Thanks, hope someone can direct me to the right thread

I tried to search for a thread on it but got so many results on things like wheels etc that it was useless.

Default Nope: not that one

I read the thread and thanks for looking, however the car tracks straight and does not pull to one side or the other. My alignment was done with some new fangled laser machine so I trust it.

It was just a strange sensation when returning to center or crossing center at highway speed, sort of like a small dead zone at the top. It happened only at higher speed. On that trip I had the car up to 100 and no pulling and stable but sometimes I got the feeling that nothing was there, however brief it was unsettling because bad things can happen fast at high speed.

What my car is doing seems consistent with the service bulletin I found.

I think I will give the dealer a call and see what the process is for the TSB, I also need to have the camshaft TSB for the clanking at start performed.

You found the TSB.
I experienced this sensation once at speed about 80 mph on a highway. When I tried to steer the wheel slightly to the left to follow the curve, there was about a second delay before the wheel responsed. The car almost went off road.
I slowed down on the curve since then.
