New brake pads installation concerns
Hello all,
I just installed some duralast cmax brake pads on the front of my 06 gs300 and just had a few concerns about this. First off, I've changed brake pads/rotors about half a dozen times, but this is the first time I've used ceramics. Right after the installation, I went to break them in, and noticed that the new pads were rubbing pretty intensely. I checked the calipers to make sure they were moving freely and made sure all my shims, bolts, etc. were tight. I understand that there may be some rubbing as it breaks in, but this noticeably loud. Is this normal with ceramics?
Furthermore, after completing the break in process (10x 35mph to 5mph moderate stops, then 3x 45 mph to 5 mph moderare stops) I noticed smoke coming from the pads. I took a quick video and proceeded with a 5 minute cool down drive. I heard that some smoking may be normal, but I would like to hear your trusted inputs.
I've read some questionable reviews on these brake pads, but didn't bother researching until now (doh!).

Update: I switched over to OEM brake pads and they work like charm. Seems like the Toyota ones ran a bit thinner brand new versus the Duralast ones, which may have been the cause of the nonstop rubbing. Furthermore, I feel like I have a better "bite" when when I need to brake harder. I've learned my lesson and ill leave Autozone parts for the Honda guys.

cmax is garage... i used them on a previous car i had and they are nothing but over priced pads.. i ended up going with the oem pads. Did you do rotors and pads that could be why you are seeing smoke?
