1 brand new set of Ballasts and 3 pairs of Bulbs later....Still not fixed
My passenge side HID lamp will randomly go off. If I drive for 30 minutes its bound to happen once or twice on the way home.
This problem has been ongoing since 50k miles, now I have 95k.
Originally replaced the bulbs with Garax 6k's, still had the same problem. The bulbs were replaced with brand new Garax and the problem still occured. Oddly enough if you switch the driver side and passenger side the problem remained with the headlamp and not the bulbs.
Lived with it for a while and the problem magically went away after a service visit at the dealer(they didn't do anything though).
A few months later the problem occured again and I decidied to replace both ballasts with brand new OEM parts and 6k Philips HID D4S Bulbs. Problem disappeared for the past year. And...now it's happening again.
So brand new bulbs, check.
Brand new Ballasts, check.
What now? I'm going to take my car into the dealer for a 100k service before my third party warranty expires and I was hoping to resolve this. I know this is an issue others have dealt with too, but typically a bulb of ballast swap addresses it. Can anyone offer me some suggestions in what I should do before I make an appointment.

lick your hands, make sure they are nice and wet, grab the cables and hold them tightly with both hands. Next touch the HID connector to your tongue. Now have someone sit in the car and turn the lights on and off for you. This will confirm if the contacts are good and your getting constant power. Just make sure to ONLY do one side at a time.
DIY write up and pics would be great
on a side note make sure to hook up Matt on those coils
