Disabling the electric power steering
I recall reading in a 2GS thread that some guys disabled their electric power steering to get more of a steering feel.
Wonder if any of you 3GS people tried that?
Are the DIY pics from the 2GS thread valid?

I wouldn't do that because then you will have no power steering at all.
Instead - try changing the tires. I find that my old car with suspension in sport mode, and with Michelin Pilot Super Sports has pretty good feel.
The touring tires do as much to kill steering feel as the EPS.

trust me... u don't want to do that.
When my alternator died the power steering was gone too and many other electronic stuff. Everything was hard to control. But the brake was the worst. I drove as slow as traffic allowed which at the time was around 20mph (luckily) cause braking takes yards and yards, and if I step on the brake harder one of my wheel lock up and burn rubber. I was willing to burn rubber but boy that was hard to drive. Like a drunk try to walk a strait line, easy when everything working normal but impossible when it's not.

you actually won't gain feel.....just make the steering wheel hard to turn. and it's not like losing hydraulic power steering. (hard to turn going slow, normal going fast) no EPS makes it harder to steer even at higher speeds.
Beyond that, there are tons and tons of other important reasons why that would be a very very bad idea.
