Default 2008 GS460, advice on wheel selection

I just purchased a pre-owned 2008 GS460. I had the stock 18" wheels refinished. Now I'm thinking about some 19" wheels and tires. My current wheels and tires are in decent shape. Option one is to just keep what I have. Option two is to get these wheels(chinese wheels off of ebay- oem replica) and some 19" tires and sell the 18" wheels I currently have. What's your opinion?

The LFA wheels will help set you apart from the other GS's on the road

Get the LFA wheels, I've been waiting to see someone with a set in 19". I think another member on here has them in 18" and they looked a little small to me

Nice 460. Those Chinese wheels look really nice but I would be suspect.......I would buy only Lexus OEM wheels. Take a look at the Lexus Tourmaline wheel...I have the 19" and really like the look.

Where did you get your wheels refinished and what was the cost?

Just because they're made in China, doesn't automatically mean they're crap!
Iirc, the company meets TÜV testing approval, so they'll be every bit as safe as OE wheels will be - since TÜV approval is possibly the toughest to achieve of all the worldwide standards.

Boron,

Reread my message.......never said they were automatically 'crap' just because made in China.

I got the buddy hook up on wheel finish. $300 cash. I might just roll on the 18" for now and save the money. I usually don't keep cars that long so by the time I get to enjoy them, I'll be in something else.

So when you said "those Chinese wheels......I would be suspect", which part of that phrase doesn't infer an automatic bias towards being lesser quality than OEM's have made for them?
