Default 2006 gs300 bad motors?

So I went to the local Lexus dealer just to test drive the gs300 and the dealer was tellin me the motors on the gs300 were bad he showed me a report showing the engine was replaced for about 11k is this common is the gs300s or was he giving me a story? Thanks I plan on buying a 06 gs300 red with black leather and 80k miles just wanna make sure I'm not gonna run into any major problems

every car has their problems and every once in a while you get the odd ball case.

what do you mean "replaced for about 11k"? $11,000?, 11,000 miles ago?

its not a common problem i wouldnt worry about a gs300. there are plenty of people with high mileage GS'. im willing to bet the sales person was trying to get you into a more expensive car.

there were some issues with this motor. I havent heard of any problems in the GS but I know it was an issue in the ES. I would frequently see ES at the local Lexus dealer having the motor rebuilt and I forget what the cause or reason was. So what your being told is actually true. Its possible that depending on the production date Lexus corrected this issue and worth checking into before making a purchase. Any reason your not considering the GS350 if your looking for a V6?
