I’m getting a weird high pitch noise from my Lexus during mid/hard acceleration, so i took my Lexus to the dealer and they said that the mid pipes on my car are aftermarket / custom tubing which is causing the noise. After hearing that i looked down and saw that mid pipe looked to be custom from the end of the header until the start of the exhaust with the oem flanges still attached. What do you guys recommend to get rid of the noise? Is this a common problem for the mid pipe to go bad on an 06 GS AWD for the previous owner to do this? I looked on Sewell Lexus and I could get the part for 1400 bucks but I wanted to know if I took it to the shop do you think they could get rid of the noise with fixing the custom tubing. I will post some pictures shortly of what this looks like, the welding looks kind of crappy to me.
