lmao your asking for info and telling me I am wrong?? haha how funny is this when you have NO clue about this stuff.

Have the member that is a "dealer" buy your car! They say your car is worth 23k I would like to see this transaction happen Thats a better offer then your local dealer.

Sell it to this Lexus dealer if they will truly give you that price. Have they seen the car?? You best run if they have and will give you that because this person is not very educated. One sold locally for 19,300 with less miles then yours to a local dealer but this dealer is going to pay 3,000 more for your car with more miles on it??? come on lol and your calling me out that I have no clue what I am talking about

who said I was a dealer???

Send me the $$$ and I will go buy you 5 for less then 19k and in the same condition as yours

Where are you getting this info from??? What dealers are paying for cars??? please share with me and why are you asking for info if you seem to already know?? lol

Your right I am wrong I have no clue what I am talking about lmao.

Can we stick to known facts?

You're right I'm not an expert, true, agreed, done.

Yes I'm saying you are wrong that a dealer would never pay more than 19. This is a fact, it just happened, at one of the major Dallas Lexus dealerships. I'm not attacking you, the statement was just wrong. He had the Manheim printout in hand and showed it to me. He is a manager at the dealership. What else can I say?

Yes they saw the car. In fact it's still at their dealership because I bought the new car and turned down their offer now I have to go pick it up.

"your calling me out that I have no clue what I am talking about"
False. I'm just saying your statement is provably wrong in this case. I accept you are very knowledgable, surely more so than me. It's just about facts.

I said you were a dealer, my mistake, it was someone else on this thread.

I stand by my offer to buy cars like mine all day for 20k. It someone can get them for 19k they can make quick profits selling them to me.

The info I have are facts along with doing this for a living I can back up my words. Like I said if this dealer is truly willing to buy, not trade in value, for $22,500 your crazy not to take this offer. Like you said you can list it for any asking price you want but getting a buyer at these numbers private party for your car isn't going to be easy.

Go get a few "buy" figures for your car this up coming weekend and let me know what they come back with. If there is a CarMax in your area they tend to be better then car dealerships when just buying a car out.

Either way good luck with it I know the facts of what your car is worth. Not here to debate with a new member with 19 posts that knows more about this car then I do both from owning one and selling mine thru a car dealer. When you have a check in hand rather then numbers tossed around I will believe what you actually get for your car.

I have been a member here for six years and linked to my previous threads, as i said I just lost my email info. I have been a Lexus owner since 2001, so I don't see why you feel a need to say I'm not a person worth your time to debate with.

I have tried to be polite and agree you are probably very knowledgable and I am probably less so.

Am I not allowed to say that a statement you made was provably wrong, in the spirit of having all the info we can on these forums?

What am I missing here?

Hi Simmsled,

I posted a link to pics in this thread, but those are from when it was brand new.

I'm trying to get some current pics and will post them. You can then see it hasn't changed a bit .

The car is still at the dealership from when I drove there to buy the new one, so I have to arrange to get a ride over there and pick it up.

Interesting how much more the AWDs are worth than the RWD.

I always laugh at threads like this.....

Someone creates a topic asking what a fair value is for their car. People respond, and when someone comes back with FACTUAL data that doesn't validate that their car isn't worth absolute top dollar, they get offended.

To the OP: You asked what price would sell your car quickly. You were given that information, now do with it what you will. If you don't like $19k, ask what you want for it, which I'm guessing is something in the range of $25k.

If you could get $23k for your car, I'd take it - especially if it's only RWD.

FWIW I purchased *this* car in April. The dealer here in South Florida Paid 25k for the whip (was listed at 31k). It was in perfect condition was grey with grey interior has ML, 18" wheels, tape deck... all the goodies. It had 37k miles. It stayed on their lot for over a month! I paid 23.5k for the car. They lost quite a bit of money but they were going to loose more if they were going to send it back to auction.

***disclaimer- the car was located at a kia dealership... The GS wasn't really what kia buyers looked for... it was completely overpriced for their demographic.***

^ wow so the GS has inflated in price in this economy

Good for you for not being a Checking Writing buyer because others said it was worth more Your purchase was dead on regardless what they had paid or asked for the car. This is happening to many dealers as the used market shifted.

It helps that I was a car salesman about 12 years ago. Took about 10 days to negotiate. There were actually a bunch of GS's lying around different dealers. My area skews pricing a bit due to the amount of old people with money around here. A Honda dealer across the street had a white 07 GS RWD with 22k miles. Had a bit of dents and dings... sales person notified me (after I told her I was in the business) they paid just over 19k for the car. They tried selling me the car for 29k.

I have the same car but w/o the ML (I do have nav) and at 34K miles (and the car is flawless inside and out). Recently I checked with Jim Falk Lexus (in Beverly Hills) what I would get on trade in for a new LS460. Best I could get was $23K. That told me if I sold to a private party, I'd get $24-25K. Market may vary geographically.

Market for used cars is very soft right now. Even classic cars (which I have two for sale)...I'm getting very little interest (my '67 Corvette Stingray convertible is listed with an established agent and have only received two lame inquiries in 14 weeks).
