defrost cause radio noise
GS430.
Every time I turn on the defrost, whatever radio station I listen to get static noise. Once I turn the defrost off the radio is nice and clean again. Is this suppose to happen?

No, but it seems like a fairly popular problem.
Did you tint your windows recently? Maybe that's the problem. Here's a thread on that. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...and-radio.html
If not, look for bad connections.

thanks for the replies.
I already remove the tint after the cop pulled me over for it. Radio works fine when when defrost is off. I can't check the antenna line with a meter can I?

nope.
At first I thought the tint caused the increase in noise. When I remove the tint I was careful and check what's left on the tint. Everything was fine. Now no tint and the noise still there.

The defrost function usually runs the blower motor at extremely high speed. I suspect that it's the motor itself causing the problem when the brushes arc while contacting the motor commutator. Is there any way to install a capacitor or other sort of hash filter across the blower motor connections? Other than that, a bad antenna and/or cable reducing the strength of the incoming signal may be causing the problem. Good luck!

^ no no, I'm talking about the defrost for the back. The front uses the AC to blow the dry air over the windshield and it cause no problem.
how can we test the antenna line?

^ stupid. People install it on the window and one governor did that to avoid the law he wrote about running the car to power the AC. He run the power line from the house to his SUV.
