Default Question about the squeaky brake problem

So my car is starting too really squeak before it was just sometimes a little bit but today it seems to have gotten really bad squeaking everywhere I stopped. The only time it would not squeak was when I braked hard to stop. I know this is a common issues but does anyone have any tips on how to fix this issue the pad still has 60% life left at least. Thanks for the replies

if you don't mind the hassle, i think you just need to re-order the shims or something. it's a cheaper part than the pads, but for the hassle, i'd just get new pads

If I only replace the pads will the squeaking come back?

it'll still be there, exactly the same, if u change ur pads ONLY. Your problem is the shims. That's what I was told by Lexus dealer, I changed to the EBC Green stuff (shims built in). Problems went completely away (100% no squeek). My rears, heh.... that's another story

Thanks for the advice, I ended up changing the front rotors yesterday, resurfacing the rears and getting new brake pads all around hopefully the noise has gone away the new pads also came with new shings so hopefully I wont have the problem again

I said it in another thread, but if your car is under 4 years, 50k miles I believe is the timeframe, there is a TSB if the pads & rotors are dealer parts. The TSB replaces pads, rotors, and shims I believe
