im putting my stock 18's back on my car (2006 gs430 rwd)
factory tire size is 245/40/18 all around
can i go a little wider on the rear with a factory wheel? maybe like 255 265 or would that not be wise???

It depends on tire manufacturer whether or not you can mount a wider tire on stock rim. Most 255 and 265 series tires with a 40 series profile would require a 8.5in wheel at the least. I have 18s and their 8in wide. You can go to michelin website and find any tire and at the bottom will tell you specific sizes with minimum and maximum rim width. I went taller on mine 245/45-18 Michelin Primacy MXV4.

Best tires for 1000$ help!?
hi Club lexus i have an awd gs350 and i live in colorado with 3-5 months of snow and the rest dry
What would be the best tires i could buy for 1000$?
i would like to keep road noise to a minimum but comfortable as well!?

I'm using Continental Extreme Contact 245/40/18. I live in Chicago and so far they really grip. They're all season and have a decent tread wear. I believe somewhere in the high 500's.

I went with the Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS and absolutely love them. They feel like you're glued to the road and seem to be wearing very evenly. Great in rain and as of last week, snow.
Highly recommend them but from what others are saying, the pilots are good too.

Get the Michelin Primacy MXV4, that's what I have on my 3GS (0ne rear wheel drive) Hahaha and I live in snowy winters. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S are good for wet and dry that's about it I ran those through winter and it was scary. Currently it snowed here and MXV4 gave me respectable grip for not being a winter tire. It's my second set by the way (2 different cars).

I am running the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus on my 06 GS430 and they have been a great performing tire. Currently have 38,000 miles on them and per my rotation last week, I should get atleast 45k on them which is what they are warrantied for.
I live in Northern CA, so no snow here, but they handle great in the rain, just can't voucher for handling/performance in the snow. Good luck!

Will these tires fit on my OEM 18's
Tire size for the front: 245/40/18. Tire size for the rear is 275/35/18. Rubber is nexen n7000.
I have the 18" wheels for an 06 gs430, want to know if these will fit, and if i'll have any issues

I have the Primacys. They are good, quiet, comfy tires. Nowhere near as good in the snow as the Continental DWS, but they are fine. For the price, you'd be better to get the Continental DWS. The reason I have Primacys is because they came with my car on my OE wheels.
