although you can knock it out with a hammer easily, i wouldnt do that. you will mess up your wheel bearings with the impact. just a tip for those people meticulous and want to do it the correct way.

I just replaced a front stud on my 2010 GS450h, thanks to Discount Tire cross threading it when I was there yesterday... Long story short, my "new" wheels needed spacers to fit properly so I went to install the spacers today and replace the old wheels that Discount reinstalled when we found the fitment issue. Well, one of the front passenger studs snapped as soon as I put some pressure on it. This DIY was useful but I did not have to remove the caliper and rotor. I could rotate the hub so the broken stud was accessible through the hole in the brake backplate. That saved quite a bit of time! I used a Dorman stud, part number 610-266 from Advance Auto and cranked it in using an open-ended lug nut also from Advance Auto. I should note that Discount Tire did offer to fix it but as it's a 30 minute drive each way, plus wait time, etc it was quicker and easier to do it myself. They did knock something off the bill from the work that they did yesterday so I feel that they did the right thing. I hope this helps folks in the future!
