Default Great looking rotors

Your brakes look great

If there a special way too reset to compress the caliper before you change the pads?
I am about to do mine just need too know I'm doing correctly. I am not at novice changing brakes and rotors. I just want to make sure I do it right . First time on this car gs450h

i have a full set of these rotors and pads on my car i noticed that its about a 10% reduction in stopping power but a lot less dust.. stopping power is increased the more the pads heat up due to the pads being ceramic. it takes a pretty hard stop to heat these bad boys up

I hope you're happy with those 300 bucks rotors? I had them installed and they ate through any pad I installed!

Yes I'm happy, my pads are still full since I installed them. You must do a lot of hard braking, cause I don't do a lot of hard braking mostly glide braking to get more energy to my battery. Hard braking will cause the pads to eat up quicker as what I was told about these rotors.

Lookin good black. I ran with a tricked out newer Audi S4 over the weekend. His stop and go ability was a strong plus as we carved through the back roads. Considering the weight of our GSs, he should've left me. Not so. Our brakes do a great job but i did want a little more bite. As we drove longer I found myself braking much earlier or using the CVT "gears" to bleed off some speed.

PS- That instant Hybrid torque was a huge plus in keeping up with a lighter more powerful car.

completely untrue...
our rotors do not wear pads ANY faster than blanks.
the pad compound itself you choose, if what impacts the length of life, higher performance wearing much faster than stock.

I disagree completely........pad life is reduced on slotted brake discs, all day, every day.
No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
You should know what the slot is there for, and how it works to achieve that.
That in itself is sufficient to make your statement oxymoronic.

Pad aggressiveness and wear rate is rather more convoluted than simply high mu = shorter lifespan.

I thought the slot was there for heat/gas/liquid dissipation. How would that effect pad life?
I figured if anything just the contact from the edge of the channels could effect pad life though or am i off on this assumption?

Spot on - leading edge of slot shaves the pad ever so slightly to remove glazing from the effect of heat.
Drilled holes allow for off-gassing too, as well as some cooling, but if not chamfered, can be more prone to cracking.
Pointless on a road car that only ever sees the main roads, and never gets pointed at tracks or technical mountain sections on early Sunday mornings.
Looks the part, but that's about it, if not used as described above.
