They are starting to see fuel pump issues on the 2006 IS and GS models. When the fuel pump is starting to go bad and cause random starting issues, the master tech says it draws too much current and over heats. Once it cools off, it may start to function properly again. The low pressure fuel pump is on the driver side under the back seat in the GS models. This fuel pump drawing too much current may need to be a recall issue, because electrical issues with a component near or related to gas can and may lead to a fire.

Doesn't have to be to the exact dollar, a ballpark figure would satiate "our" curiosity.

If "we" presume a good few hundred bucks, then I hope you'd consider putting 100 of it in the fire dept's kitty to treat the chaps there to a takeaway at least, as a sign of thanks and gratitude, even though it's what they're paid to do.

Lexus dealer charges a lil over $800 to replace and install the fuel pump under the rear seat on the GS model. I got them to take a $100 off of that since I found the part on their parts dept web site for about a $100 cheaper. So they refunded me a lil over $700. Also, yes I will and do donate to gun and hoses which is a charity for the police and fire dept.
