Default FML i cut the holes for my UCA!!! No going back now...

So we re-installed my air ride after a long winter. I was talking to the guy who installed it and told him the idea, one thing led to another and fml we did it. I've been thinking about doing it since i put in the air ride.

So here is what we did.

Judging by the dents underneath we drilled a pilot hole.
Then we used a 2.5" hole saw and cut it down from the top.

The hole cut very clean, then we used a file cut clean it up

We put an industrial tape on from the top and sprayed uncoating on it. I will probably have a body shop make me covers for them

Here's the AFTER, got about 1/2" of extra drop

Here is almost the same picture BEFORE without the cut

Agreed, now i'm wondering the structural integrity of those areas. Please keep us updated with results after a few months to 1yr off driving

Guys have been doing this mod forever... VW guys, Audis, Accords. A lot of older Lexus and 2 GS's have this. I've just never seen it on a 3GS...

This mod will not effect the bodies integrity or the suspension. You would have to have cut near the welds for that to happen..

i cut mine out almost 6 months ago but I'm on coil overs. The car rides so much better because I'm not bottoming out every time i hit a bump or take a corner.

I forgot to mention this part, anyone's who is really low knows how bad the car can bottom out, it's crazy. This should help...

My car is AWD so no matter what it is higher up front. Difference is only 1/2" so it's not obvious. When I get better pix I'll post.

your upper control arm will sit touching your top inner fender aired out. Or it with just bottom out hard. Cutting then out give you a little extra space...

If you drive your car low the upper arm will hit there. Cut it out the problem goes away.
