Default Headlights periodically go off

I'm having a strange problem. While driving with my headlights on, one or both of my headlights periodically turn off. They turn back on when I turn the headlight switch to off and back on again.

Does anyone know what is causing this and how to resolve this problem?

ballast is my guess. A bulb would prob stay dead! lol.

Mine were doing the same thing. I replaced both bulbs and that fixed the problem.

When I replace the bulb is the ballast part of the bulb replacement? I'll place an order for replacing both bulbs.

Any suggestions on what after market bulbs to use or should I use factory bulbs from the dealership?

Thanks for the responses.

You can go with Morimoto or Garax OEM if you wish to stay stock but for that you can go on amazon. No the Ballast is not part of the bulb that is a seperate part that needs to be ordered but I would check to see if it is the bulb.

Your bulbs are bad, replace them and you should be fine. I went with Morimoto bulbs from the retrofit soure and havent had any issues.

I just ordered 2 Phillips D4S Xenon HID bulbs from Amazon for $100. I'll let you know how well they work after I receive and install them
