Oil burning issues continue to pop up for the 3.5 motor as well. Makes me feel slightly less infuriated that I was stupid enough to buy the GS 300. I'm ***** tired of the throwaway, disposable mentality when it comes to consumer goods, in particular cars. Lexus is following Mercedes down the path of building flashy crap that is designed to be leased for 24 months and discarded because they want you to buy the next new shiny toy for only $599/month. In perpetuity.

Perhaps I should just get an '06 LS 400, as that appears to be the last era when Lexus cared about the durability and longevity of their automobiles. I hate the whole leasing mania, as well. And 70 month car payments? It has led to an explosion of sales of very expensive cars to people who cannot afford them. If you can't pay cash, you can't afford it. It leads to issues like this with our DI motors. I doubt any of the other modern DI Lexus engines are immune. Just seeing too many issues surface here.

Default No

Lexus did not fix it for me and denied it was an issue. I didn all the proper service on the vehicles and everything with documentation. They made me so mad I will never purchase another one of their vehicles nor will any of my family members.

I am thinking to buy GS300 2006-2007 but I see that many people have got issues with this engine. I wanted to ask you if it was finally fixed somehow by Lexus ? Does it affect only 2006 models or 2007-2008 can have exactly the same issue ? If there is some new version of this engine, free of those problems, how can I evetually recognise the new type of engine ?

Thank you guys for any opinions.

Cheers!

This is why I sort of Jumped Ship and ran to Acura and grabbed a exactly 1 year old RLX with 6K miles for $36K. Hopefully I don't have this issue with that car. That and that I can't find a 4th gen GS and a "great price". I see good prices, but not Great
