What problems/issues are you referring to?
Which models are affected?

Presume you're readying yourself for the cambelt change in 6K mikes time? (Assuming Lexus US follows the same interval as the UK/Europe - 100K/10 years)

i speaking of the issues with the 300's 350's and 450h's

the 430 is the hands down winner is dependability but that speaks for itself

timing belt takes me about 4 hours to do and maybe $350 in OEM parts so no real issue there.

thing is that i know of people with 190k on the original belt and my parents have 130k on there ls430 original belt. (yes i offered to replace it free i guess they just don't care)

but do a search on broken timing belt you wont find one closet youll find is leaking waterpump at which time you might as well replace the belt

now do a search on gs450h batterry and the valve springs and the transmissions ect ect i really like the lexus product but a the 430 drivetrain in the gs and ls are rock sold day in day out with almost no cost of ownership

You have to admit, Lexus launched its first model as a V8, so they have mastered it!

Good point! The Reattas, the Caprice & the T/A (in my sig) all have low miles. Without regular use or improper storage (and of course correct maintenance), gaskets, shocks, filters, etc. can go bad. I put $4,700 into the Caprice (wasn't expecting to) because the car was not taken care of mechanically (has 42,000 miles).

Sometimes, better to drive your car 15,000+ miles/yr then let it sit in the driveway.
