The G8s interior looks way better than that. It's not as plush or technically advacned as a Lexus, but it doesn't look like that Caprice. Lol. If I could I would get a GS460 and throw on a few bolt ons, but I will have to get for a 430/350 if I go the Lexus route.

This is a very loaded question on a Lexus board. Ask on the G8 board and people will say the GS is a grandfather car...
Obviously everyone will say 3GS as we already decided its the car we want.
Try and drive them both and see which you prefer. The Lexus will have more luxury but the G8 will have more power.
Now if we were talking the Vauxhall Bathurst, there wouldn't be any question. That car is sick!
Good luck.

^^I'm actually in Houston TX. You are asking a fair price though.. One of my buddies has a Camaro SS, and he thinks the GS is a old mans car. Lol. Yes, I see everybody here is set on the GS, which is a nice car. Ahh, I'm 24 and still have the urge to speed. I will look and see if I can find a 460 in the 30k range. Thanks guys

GS460 like stated. I would stay away from the G8 as a whole. i love the looks and power but just dont like the build quality and factory options it lacks. Like the guy above me mentioned, noone will tell you G8 on a lexus board.
This question on the G8 boards would result in people telling you the 3GS is a glorified Toyota camry/avalon. Thats just how it goes.

2008 gs460 under 50k in miles. They've had it for a little bit. I was going to go look at it but I'm going the LS route. I know it's far from Texas but its only the best color combo ever! Police are getting the g8 also and it's called the caprice now. The Chevy emblem looks terrible on the front though. They won't be for civilian sale though

^^ Holy crap, that would be my dream GS to have, My old GS used to be Cinnabar, which was my favorite color, and that black interior is killer! And it's priced nicely. If only it wasn't so far.
Oh and I'm glad the caprice won't be for civilian sale.. It's not very pretty lol

GS vs G8
The pontiac is no longer being built, so in the future parts will be harder to come by and more expensive. Besides that GM cars in general do not have a great reliability record. As said previously, you cannot compare the pontiace to the lexus in any category. If you want a pontiac, then get it, but a lexus is in a different league.

I have a GTO and have no problems getting parts. Most come from Australia from Holden that the dealer orders. Even says it on the bags. you can still get parts for Saturn also. I will say though, it's getting hard to find specific parts for Oldsmobile. But look how long ago that was. Good thing for aftermarket and gm's brilliant plan of just slapping another logo on the same car.

i would assume your paying through the nose buying parts from Australia. Aren't cars over there double what we pay here. I would assume that mark up translates to parts as well, but IDK

So yes, got the chance to check one out. The interior is nothing special, pretty plain. Hell. even the one with power seats, has the a **** to recline the seats. The leather is far from plush, and it has a plastic feel overall. And no automatic telescoping wheel? I feel like I'm in a base car. I love the design, and the fact that it's rare. My only option if I was to go the G8 route was to do a major interior redesign(adding a navi, changing out the seats, add some sort of leather on the dash)
I will continue my search and see if I can find any GS460s in my area.
Another question. Those with 430's, can you throw on the same bolt on's as you did with the second Gen? Such as SS headers, TC, intake, gears and such?

If your pockets allow it and your not afraid of the technology, try the 450h. it's the fasted GS made. I also like the fact that it gets great MPG when all the go fast buttons are off. But even with them on its surprisingly efficient.

G8 is already forgotten. Think of the resale value. Personally I don't see whats so special about it. Design is very basic and easily forgotten.
Only thing good about it is the 6.0 v8 rear wheel drive. But unless you life consists of going 0-60 at every light I dont see whats so special about that car.
As for 430. Its plenty fast for me. Any car thats in low 14's is good enough for daily duty. Factor in reliability, style, quality and resale value and I dont see how these two car can even be compared to each other.
Either way, good luck!
