Default 2006 GS300 RWD revs up to 4500 at freeway speeds before changing gears-Any Help?

I was on the freeway yesterday and my 2006 Lexus GS 300 RWD (all stock) would only kick into 4th gear on the freeway after reving to about 4500 RPM (minimum).

It also kept going past the redline if I really punched it.

After approx. 5-7 minutes everything went back to normal-No lights came on or anything like that.

Any idea what this might be?
I've never had any problems (minus TPMS Sensors) with my GS300 and this was all surprising.

The vehicle was at regular temperature (no overheating) and it seemed like it would only go up to 3rd.

It started approx 4-5 minutes after entering the freeway.

You may need to have your tranny looked at, have you checked your tranny fluid

I had it inspected at 60k 85k and 90k...all 3 times all looked well-I just did my 95K service and everything checked out fine but there was no transmission inspection.

The only thing I did different was turn my air vents off for a few minutes-I had not done this in 8-12 weeks. A/C has been off since September too; just air vents had been ON until I turned them off approx. 5-7 minutes before this happened.

I think that's how I may have fixed it....Is there anything documented out there? Maybe it isn't a common problem thus I can't find much about it...

Know of anything else by chance?

Well sport mode holds gear longer then normal mode, It also does ruff down shifts when breaking hard. I suggest keeping it on normal mode or snow if that ever occurs again.
