My new GS430
Finally found what I wanted. This color combination and all.
2006 GS430, 68k miles. Mint inside and out. Extensive Lexus records, oil change done religiously.
Drove it from Milwakee to NYC.
Flew in Friday afternoon and was on the road back by 6pm. Stopped in Chicago to show my girl the town and I must say, this is one of my favorite places in US from now on. Just love the design of the town. Saturday left Chicago and drove back to NYC. 800 miles.
Love the car, love the motor. Steering is so much better than my 98 LS400 was.
Had to silence a rattling noise coming from the dash, somewhere by the defroster. Thanks to you guys it took me 1 minute to fix that problem.
I was amazed how good the stereo system is for a stock design. I gotta say navigation is a pain in the *** to work. Not terribly user frendly, but I figured it out at some point. Also wish cd changer played mp3.s but ill figure something out. Motor is just a beast, and it works so well with a 6-speed box, sounds great too.
One small problem that I will have to deal with is a nasty old pin stripe that the car came with. Who does this crap these days??? Who puts a pin strip on a GS430??? This should be illegal, against the law to ruin a car with such tasteless ****. With my luck its painted on too, but looks like its barely there, so hopefully it will come off easy. Anyone tried that Easy OFF method???
I am afraid of damaging the factory paint. Advice?
Overall, not a single dissapointment with the cars design or this car at all. More pics to follow.

Very nice find, is that the Quartz Shadow or Flint Mica?
Anyway, to remove painted pinstrips, I've been successful with just rubbing compound or for quicker results, you could try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuNiEAqwsYI This guy is using a Dremel with a polishing wheel and some compound to take the painted strips off his 2GS.

Im not a big fan of paint stripe. Worst thing is it looks really work, faded. So I just want to get rid of it all together. Ill check with my body shop here and see what they offer.
Im just worried with them shaving off the line now, and the factory paint showing the damage a few years later, fading or oxidation.
How do I know the difference between Flint Mica or Quartz???? Its dark Metallic grey to me.
I love the car, it is so cozy and tight and fast. Either my 98 LS400 was falling apart, or this car is just a sportier different animal. Feels very European. You can even hear the V8 motor inside the cabin just enough to know its a V8.
Sound System is great, love it. I dont think I'll be adding any subs in the trunk, this is just enough for me.

Just looked it up again at the Lexus web site. Color is Flint Mica.
GS430 is rare in NYC., Lots of 300's and 350s. I always had V8 cars and I just love them. 430's are rare here, plus they were a lot more expensive. I also wanted to fly out and drive back for a distance, like a road trip. This car did not disappoint. Wish it played MP3,s but thats not big deal.
