Rominl- Why do you say the car is so unreliable? What have you experienced with the car that makes you say that?

Well I think the GS sales were so poor because 55k is alot of money for a car,, and they had almost no advertisement so all the old "people" ended up buying them. Nothing was geared towards the youger crowd.. Take for example the BMW and AUDI's they were geared towards the younger crowd and older crowd... Think about how many ads you REALLLY saw for the GS?
nonono, i wouldn't say the gs350 is so unreliable, but it's not as reliable as i would hoped for. naturally i expect better reliability on lexus than say bmw or mb, but between my m3 and gs350, i visited lexus dealerships more than the m3, and i am not even counting services (which bmw is less often). on my m3 i got a sensor problem over my 3 yrs of ownership, but for my gs, there was dash squeak, windshield replacement, valve spring recall, mirror bulb problem, not to mention some other fixes i performed myself.

at least the drive train is strong on the car, i don't think the valve spring was that big of a deal. but there just seems to be more smaller problems around.

and well, lexus doesn't advertise the gs much for a reason. to be honest, and i have said it before, the car just isn't much of a success by comparison

I got lucky and found mine on cars.com about 60 miles away in a very rare frost mica pearl on black loaded. But even better it's the bullet proof gs430. So I converted it to gen 5 navigation and updated some other small things and now I have a extremely reliable gs430 I'm a mechanic and I don't need the issues in my personal car I have to fix 0n the gs350. I don't need awd because I have a truck for winter.

Default Why are these so rare?

If you are willing to travel a little from the New York area, I saw an ad yesterday from SHEEHY LEXUS of Annapolis, MD, where they have a 2010 AWD with a fairly good list of options with only 7,786 miles on it. It is silver with black interior. They are asking 41,490, but I am sure you can get them down a couple of thousand. Might want to check it online and if it is what you can deal with make them an offer. They are pretty good people. That is where I bought my Lexus. The one listed is CPO. It is about a 5 hour drive from your location. I presently live in Southern Delaware and go to MA on occassion and it only takes me about 6 hours to get to Boston.
