Hi benbuilt4u,
I too am keen for this conversion! I have already tried the following with no success and it would be nice if you cound provide some assistance:
Installed the gen 5 entire "nav screen/cd changer/nav ecu, from a 2008 GS into a 2006 GS both ML.
However when I connected it and started the engine, the screen booted up with the lexus logo then after a brief pause, it says audio not connected and the screen remained black.
My questions are:
1) Why did this happen and how do I go about to make it work?
2) Referring to the LIGHT blue port in the attached picture, the wire that connects into this port, where does it come from? the nav ecu behind glove box? the reverse camera?
3) I notice there are 2 ports on the back of the 06 nav ecu where as on the back of the 08 nav ecu, there are three. The wire that connects to this extra port, where does it come from?
Your knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

Here's some hints to that LVDS Video cable Toyota/Lexus uses.

Not sure where you could just buy one of this cable though.

I figured out the pin configuration...
All I need is the blue nav harness to get the nav working. If you need the pin out configuration, pm me and I can send pictures

I'm getting ready to, all I need is the blue nav harness and the pin configuration. I don't believe you will need any other harnesses even if you have ML, as I have the ML system too.

I plan on doing the same thing with one of the vaistech models once I do the conversion. I don't kno if it will work or not without gen 5 nav CPU connected, but I think it would.
