2007 GS350 Mirror Replacement w/ OEM 2008+ Mirrors with turn signals
I want to do the mirror replacement on my 2007 GS350. Some DIY folks have done this mod using OEM mirrors. There are generally scant details for the OEM swap; much more for the after-market swap, but I want to stick with the OEM mirrors. I was hoping I might find a member who did the OEM replacement who could answer/clarify the following:
1) Does it matter what model year (2008+) mirror assembly to use?
2) How specifically does the new mirror assembly connect to the ECU (brains) in the door? Is it simply plug-n-play in the door's existing mirror ECU and this runs everything else except the turn signals?
What I gather from reading two DIY OEM replacement descriptions is that the connector on the door’s mirror ECU fits the connector on the new mirror assembly except that pins 8 and 16 on the door ECU connection, which run the turn signals, are empty. Can anyone confirm this??
3) What wire in the new mirror assembly gets connected (using an additional wire I presume) to the turn signal wires in the car?
What I can tell from the DIY's who did the OEM replacement is it's a HOT PINK wire in the new mirror wire harness that gets connected to the turn signal wires (thick green and yellow wires in floor sill). Confirm/Agree??
4) What about a ground wire for the connections to the turn signals, how does that get done?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks. From the threads I have seen where installation details are provided, the mirrors are not OEM mirrors. They are aftermarket mirror shells that hook up to the ECU by connections supplied by the vendor.

GS350 Mirror Replacement w/ 2008+ OEM mirrors
Here's the deal...
2008+ mirror assembly plugs into 2007 (and probably 2006) door ECU. All systems function perfectly EXCEPT the pink wire in the mirror assembly wire harness must be cut, spliced/soldered with another wire and routed to the respective turn signal wires. I had a body shop do my work. They are used to stripping cars down and rebuilding them, so this is right up their ally. Also, fitment on car is perfect!
Best of luck...!
