GS430 - Turning off the Oil Maint Reqd Warning?
I got my oil changed, but the tech guys didn't know how to turn off the warning light. I looked all over in my book, and I swear I couldn't find where to turn it off. There's a section on how to turn off different warning lights, but not that one.
I also took it to the dealer but nobody but the mechanics knew how, and it was a long wait to get in and I had to go to work.
Anyone know? It's driving me CRAZY!!
I'm selling the car as well and I don't want that light on while people are looking at the car.

Ah a search **** - gotta love it
Anyhow - I found that and tried it to the T before posting. Didn't work.
Maybe I have a weird model.
Looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and wait 30-40 minutes for the Lexus dealer techs to fix it.

Try this:
1. Push the “ODO TRIP” button in the switch box to change the display to current mileage (neither Trip A nor Trip B).
2. Turn the engine off.
3. Press and hold “RESET” button down. While holding the "RESET" button down, push engine-on button twice (with foot off the gas pedal) to go to "Ignition On" mode.
4. Keep holding "RESET" button down. After the above operation, the mileage numbers will disappear, replaced by "OIL MILEAGE RESET" message. Few seconds later the numbers will re-appear again. Done.

And yes, next expand your search to youtube. You'll be surprised.

My manual was telling me just to push the on engine button once, and it wasn't working. You have to actually hit it twice, while pressing the reset button at the same time.
Did my car just come with the wrong version of owners manual?
